How do I check if my rewards points are applied to my money transfer?

When you redeem your points, you will also see the transfer fee discount amount on your transfer summary message or receipt.  

Do I need to redeem points to get a discount on my shopping?

No. You simply log into your Western Union Rewards account, go to the Shop section, select the brand offers that interest you and begin shopping.

Is Western Union Rewards free-to-join?

Yes, Western Union Rewards is free-to-join.  Join here.

Does the discount remain the same for each brand?

Discounts vary by brand, so check their terms to see how to qualify.

 

How do I check my Reward points balance?

You can check your Rewards points on the dashboard by logging into your Western Union Rewards profile or through our Western Union mobile app.

How can I use my points to get a transfer fee discount?

You can redeem your points for a transfer fee discount when you send money online.  Just choose your reward at checkout on our website or in our app.

What methods does Western Union use to help protect customer data?

Can I redeem my points for transfer fee discounts?

Members can use points to redeem for discounts off the money transfer fee:

  • 250 points can be redeemed for up to 1 EUR discount on a transfer fee.
  • 500 points can be redeemed for up to 2 EUR discount on a transfer fee.

What if I have a problem with my order or want to cancel it?

You will need to contact the merchant directly. Western Union does not have access to your shopping history.

What does “up to” 2 EUR transfer fee discount mean?

In some cases,  you might want to use a transfer fee discount1 even though the fee is below the total reward value. For example, you choose to redeem 500 points for a transfer fee discount where the total fee for the transaction is 1.80 EUR. In this case, you get a 1.80 EUR discount because the total fee due is less than 2 EUR but no cash value will be provided for the remaining 0.20 EUR.

How do I join Western Union Rewards?

There are three ways to join Western Union Rewards: 

1.     If you are new to Western Union, create a Western Union profile on westernunion.com or our mobile app that allows you to send money transfers.  When creating a profile, select the Rewards checkbox.  Your personal Western Union Rewards number will be generated.  Register now to create your profile.

2.     Already have a profile? Log in and select the Rewards tab. Accept the program’s Terms and Conditions and you will be assigned a Rewards number.

Do my rewards points expire?

Yes, they do. You can use Rewards points for up to two years from the date they were issued. After that, your earned points will automatically expire and will no longer be redeemable.

What are the acceptable payment methods for the WU℠ Shop VIP rewards membership?

We only accept payments through credit and debit cards.

When will my missing purchase request be resolved?

The store usually takes 60-90 days to resolve a missing purchase request. Please make sure that you submit the right details to make the process fast and smooth. Once the missing purchase request is resolved, the money will be credited to your bank account.

Will I still be able to earn points when I send money from an agent location today, even if I can’t yet redeem points at agent locations?

Yes!  You will still earn points at agent locations when you send money from an agent location! To check your points balance and earn history, please log on to our rewards portal at https://www.westernunion.com/fr/en/rewards/home.html.

What rewards can I earn?

You can redeem 500 points to get a discount of up to 2 EUR on money transfer fee1.

Why can’t I redeem my points at an agent location?

For now, redemption of Western Union Rewards points is only available for money transfers started at westernunion.com or in our mobile app. 

 

When will I be able to redeem my points at an agent location?

We expect to launch point redemptions at agent locations in approximately six to eight weeks.  We will keep you updated on timing.  Please visit our website to learn more.

When will Western Union Rewards be available at agent locations?

Members can enroll in Western Union Rewards and earn points at agent locations.  For now, members will not be able to redeem points for a transfer fee discount when they start a money transfer at an agent location.  We will keep you posted when you can redeem points at agent locations. Are there any restrictions on using coupons?

Yes, coupons may have restrictions such as minimum purchase requirements, limited-time validity, or any other specific product exclusions. Details are available in the ‘More Details’ section of the coupon description.

What does it mean when a coupon doesn’t have a code?

Some coupons are automatically applied when you click on them and there is no need for a code to be copied.

Can I use coupons in-stores?

Some coupons can be used in-store only. The details will always be mentioned in the email/text you get. No need to guess.

How many times can I use a coupon code?

Depending on the merchant, some coupon codes can be used multiple times, while others are ‘single use’ coupon codes. More details about the coupon, including the expiry date, will be available in the ‘More Details’ section of the coupon description.

What type of deals are offered on Western Union Shop?

Different types of deals are offered on Western Union Shop such as BOGO (Buy One, Get One), Free Shipping, Discounts, or Coupons based on the listed merchants. Some deals are provided with deal codes or coupon codes, others are applied automatically.

How can I use a discount?

Once you click on ‘Shop Now’, you will be directed to the merchant site and the deal will be visible automatically. In case you are using a coupon, just click on ‘Get Code’, copy the coupon code, and you will be directed to the merchant site where you can enjoy shopping. Just copy and paste the code at checkout to unlock your savings.

Can discounts be combined or stacked?

Most codes can’t be stacked with other offers. But some merchants let you combine discounts with sales or free shipping. Check the rules at checkout to be sure.

Do I need to use points to get a discount?

No – you simply log into Western Union Rewards, go to the Shop section and click the brand offers that interest you and begin shopping.

What is the catch?

No catch! Getting a Receiver Reward really is that easy. As long as you are in France or Morocco, your sender is a member of the Western Union Rewards program in France, and the money is sent through Western Union, you will get a Receiver Reward with every money transfer.

What is the Receiver Reward?

The Receiver Reward will be a free 500mb eSIM. To learn more about eSIMs, you can do so here.

How will I get my Receiver Reward?

You will get your receiver reward via SMS once a money transfer is completed. This means the money has been picked up or paid out. 

We can only send you your reward if your mobile phone number is associated with the money transfer, so make sure your sender includes it!

When do I get a Receiver Reward?

You will get your Receiver Reward shortly after a money transfer is completed. 

Unfortunately, the link cannot be resent once it has been delivered via SMS.  However, you can try the following steps to recover it:

1.       Check your SMS History: Go through your SMS inbox, including any archived or deleted messages folders, for the message containing the promo code link.

2.       Contact your Mobile Carrier: Some mobile carriers provide a service to retrieve deleted messages. Check with your carrier to see if this option is available.

Is there a limit on how many Receiver Rewards I can get?

No! You will get a receiver reward every time you get your money through Western Union and it meets the requirements for a receiver reward.

Who gets a Receiver Reward?

The requirements to get a receiver reward are as follows: 

  • Money must be sent through Western Union
  • Sender must be member of the Western Union Rewards program
  • Receiver must be in France or Morocco
  • Receiver’s mobile phone number must be included on the money transfer

 

Does how I receive my money transfer matter?

Nope! As long as you receive your money through Western Union you will qualify for a receiver reward. No matter if it is online, via APN, or at one of our retail locations. 

What is a Receiver Reward?

A Receiver Reward is a “thank you” reward sent to receivers who get their money through Western Union.

What is the annual cost of the WUSM Shop VIP rewards membership?

The annual membership cost for the WU Shop VIP reward membership is 45 EU.

How do I check my reward points?

You can check your My WU points on any of the following platforms:

  • Website:
  1. Visit westernunion.com to log in to your profile.
  2. Go to the Menu icon at the top right side of the screen.
  3. Select My WU Rewards from the dropdown.
  4. View your available points balance.
  • My WU Rewards portal:
  1. Visit the My WU Rewards portal to log in to your profile.
  2. View your My WU number and the available points balance.
  • Mobile app:
  1. Open the Western Union mobile app and log in to your profile.
  2. Go to the Menu icon to view your available My WU points balance.
  • SMS:
  1. Send a text BAL or SOLDE to 31016.
  2. Receive your available My WU points balance via SMS.

How do I earn points with Western Union Rewards?

You can earn points with Western Union Rewards using any of the following ways:

  • You will earn 100 points for every money transfer. Points will will be credited in your account once the money transfer is completed. This means once the money transfer is received or picked by the person receiving the money.
  • From time to time, you might also receive bonus points offers from Western Union that will allow you to earn additional points for completing certain activities.

 

What is Western Union Rewards Shop?

Western Union Rewards Shop provides members with deals and discounts on brands they love.   Simply log into your Western Union Rewards account and go to the Shop section to browse offers from our partner brands.

Why can I not earn points in the My WU℠ loyalty program anymore?

Earning reward points is currently disabled in the program. If you are a My WU member, we will notify you about our new rewards program.

How do I redeem My WU℠ points?

On our website and app:

1.       Log in to your Western Union profile.

2.       Go to Menu and select My WU.

3.       Select Redeem points.

4.       Select Yes in the popup.

5.       Select Use reward.

The discount will be automatically applied to your next transfer fee.

 

Via the My WU portal:

1.       Log in to your profile and go to My WU Rewards.

2.       Go to the Rewards section to view your reward options.

3.       Choose your reward and select Use reward.

The discount will be applied automatically to your next transfer fee.

 

You can use your My WU points till they expire as per My WU terms and conditions.

Where can I redeem my points?

Redemption of Western Union Rewards points is only currently available for money transfers started at westernunion.com or in our mobile app.  

How do I enroll in the My WU℠ loyalty program?

You can enroll in the My WU loyalty program through any of the three ways:

  • Create a Western Union profile on westernunion.com or our mobile app and then select the My WU checkbox. This will generate a My WU number that will be used on all digital transfers. You can create your profile without sending a money transfer. Register now to create your profile.
  • If you already have a profile, log in and select the My WU tab on the top right side of the page. Accept the terms and conditions of the program and you will be assigned a My WU number.
  • Register in person at an agent location. Your My WU number will be printed at the top of your receipt.

How can I pick up the cash back¹ I’ve earned?

You can pick up your cash back at any Western Union agent location after submitting a fund withdrawal request online. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your My WU profile.
  2. Select Withdraw cash back.
  3. Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
  4. Select Withdraw to generate a tracking number (MTCN).

The cash back will be available within a few minutes of your request. Bring the tracking number (MTCN) and your government-issued ID to any nearby agent location to collect your money.

You can collect your cash within the next 14 days after which it will be automatically credited back to your WU Shop balance.

How can I check the status of my missing purchase request?

To track your missing purchase request, do the following:

  1. Log in to your profile on westernunion.com.
  2. Select Cash back overview from the Menu.
  3. Select View in the comment section of the selected missing purchase request.
  4. You’ll be able to see the status of your missing purchase request.

It takes 60-90 days for the store to review these requests. If there is no status update, it means we’re still resolving your missing purchase request.

Do I need to turn off content blockers on my mobile device?

You can get cash back1 when shopping on WU Shop while you’re logged in to your My WU profile. You’ll also need to allow cookies and ads on your device to avoid any technical difficulties while shopping and receiving cash back.

If your iOS device has content blockers installed, your shopping may not get tracked and you may not earn cash back. You can disable content blockers following the given steps:

  • Select Settings, then select Safari.
  • Select Content blockers.
  • Turn off the content blockers and start shopping on WU

How do I learn more about my Western Union Rewards benefits?

Your Western Union Rewards account is a great place to see your member account number, your points earned, redemption history and the latest updates and promotional offers.  You can also access the Western Union Rewards Shop by logging into your account.

Why did I earn less cash back¹ than expected?

You may earn less cash back for any of the following reasons:

  • Shipping charges
  • Tax and service fees
  • Redemption of any coupon or voucher
  • FX fee for foreign currencies or international shopping

Can I use WU℠ Shop with my ad-blocking software?

To enjoy shopping at WU Shop while using an ad-blocker, you can do one of the following:

  • Add westernunion.com to the cash back shopping filter list in your ad-blocking software.
  • Disable ad-blocker while completing your purchases on WU Shop.

We use advertisements to track your shopping and to see if your purchases qualify for cash back1. For the best shopping experience and most cash back, please disable ad-blockers.

Can I shop at a store that is no longer listed on WU℠ Shop?

If you shop at a store that is no longer listed on WU Shop, you will not receive any cash back. Look for online stores offering similar products on WU Shop to ensure that you earn cash back1.

Why didn’t my purchase qualify for cash back¹?

Your purchase may not qualify for cash back for any of the following reasons:

  • You purchased a product at a discount.
  • You redeemed a coupon, gift card, or voucher to pay for the purchase.
  • You purchased using a mobile or tablet.
  • The store does not offer cash back on your purchase. You can check the cash back details on the selected store’s page on WU Shop.

Why was my missing purchase request declined?

Your missing purchase request may be declined due to any of the following reasons:

  • The store could not track your shopping details due to ad-blockers, disabled cookies, or any other technical errors.
  • The purchase date you entered does not match with the invoice date on the missing purchase request.
  • You submitted an incorrect order ID.
  • Your purchase was not eligible for cash back.
  • Your purchase has not been confirmed from the merchant’s end.
  • The missing purchase request submitted has already been credited in your account.
  • You redeemed an online coupon or voucher from any other site to pay for a purchase on WU Shop. You can earn cash back1 if you redeem coupons and vouchers available on WU Shop.
  • You shopped at a store outside of your country. Only shopping at stores on WU Shop within your country can earn you cash back1. In case you entered an incorrect country while signing up, you can contact Customer Care to change your country.
  • You’ve submitted a missing purchase request for your travel booking while it is still in progress. You can request for your travel’s missing purchase only within 45 days of completing it.
  • You submitted the missing purchase request after 90 days of your purchase. No missing purchase request is accepted after 90 days of purchase date on invoice.
  • Your purchase was not eligible for a cash back because it was canceled, returned, or modified. Any purchase initiated on the website and completed via phone is not eligible for cash back.

Why does WU℠ Shop use cookies?

We use cookies to track your purchases and offer you cash back1. If you experience any technical issues, you’ll need to allow cookies from Western Union and the stores of your choice.

Why am I unable to submit my missing purchase request?

You may be unable to submit your missing purchase request because of any of the following:

  • The store has a specific period for submitting missing purchase requests.
  • The store is not available on your browser extension.
  • The store does allow shopping on mobile.
  • The store is not located in your country.

Every store has a different policy for submitting the missing purchase request. To learn more on their missing policy details, go to Select store on WU Shop and then select Exceptions.

Can I shop with a brand located in a different country?

Yes, you can shop with any overseas brand that facilitates shipping to your country. 

How do I cancel my WU Shop℠ VIP rewards membership?

To cancel your WU Shop VIP rewards membership, log in to your My WU profile or call Customer Care. Please note that you can cancel your membership and claim a full refund only within 14 days of its purchase. If you cancel after 14 days, you’ll not be eligible for a refund.

Your refund will be processed and credited back to the original payment method within 5-10 business days after you submit a cancellation request.

Is there a limit on cash back¹?

There is no limit to how much cash back1 you can earn on your purchases via WU Shop.

You can use cash back for personal shopping. You can also withdraw it as cash. If you use cash back for any commercial profit, we may terminate or lock your profile permanently.

When will I receive cash back?

You’ll receive cash back in 90-120 days after the store confirms a qualifying purchase to Western Union.

What is the withdrawal limit?

You can withdraw any available amount once you have the minimum required balance of 20 EU in your My WU wallet. If you choose not to withdraw the entire amount, you’ll be eligible for the next withdrawal only when you achieve the minimum required balance in your wallet.

Why didn’t I receive cash back¹ from WU℠ Shop?

You can only receive cash back when shopping at online stores available on the WU Shop portal while you’re logged in to your My WU profile.

You’ll also need to allow cookies and advertisements on your device to avoid any technical issues while shopping and receiving cash back.

What is Western Union® Rewards?
